I used to think that Bohol was overrated because all I saw in photos are the Chocolate Hills and the Tarsier Sanctuary. But there are so many places to see in Bohol that group tours do not normally cover, and I think these hidden gems are what make Bohol so worth it.

So I'm sharing this itinerary for 5 days in Bohol. This will be useful if you plan on going to Bohol and you want to explore more of the island in the roads less traveled.

Day 1: Arrival in Bohol

I came from Siargao, because I am currently living in Siargao. I took a plane from Siargao Island to Cebu City. From the Mactan Cebu Airport, I took a cab going to the ferry port to catch the next ferry to Tagbilaran Port.

The ferry trip lasted for roughly 2 hours. I arrived in Bohol in the evening. My friend went to pick me up and we headed straight to our hotel in Panglao to get some rest.

Day 2: Countryside Tour

For the official first day in Bohol, we went on a group tour offered by Klook which was pretty convenient. We availed of the Bohol Countryside Tour which features all of the popular tourist spots in Bohol. It also includes a cruise along Loboc River with a buffet lunch included.

Here are the places that we visited:

  • Blood Compact Shrine
  • Philippine Tarsier Sanctuary
  • Chocolate Hills
  • Bilar Man-Made Forest
  • Loboc River
  • Camaya-an Hanging Bridge
  • Baclayon Church

Day 3: Free Day

Since we were still exhausted from the trip, we decided to not make plans for this day. I ended up doing some work, and then we went to one of the malls for lunch and do some shopping.

Later that day, we decided to go to Dumaluan Beach just to relax.

Day 4: Danao Adventure Park

Some of the things we really wanted to try in Bohol were the thrilling rides at Danao Adventure Park. So for this day, we went for a drive via motorbike to Danao. We spent half the day at the adventure park.

After that, we drove back to Panglao. We planned to go back directly to our hotel. But we saw signages pointing to Camugao Falls along the way so we decided to check it out first before finally heading back to our hotel.

Day 5: Land Tour

This day was probably the most exhausting, yet the most enjoyable, day we've spent in Bohol. Since we rented a motorbike for the whole week, we maximized it and went on a land tour to see more of the island.

We went to see some waterfalls and ended the day at Molave Cliff for some cliff jumping. We jumped into open sea from a ledge that is 6 meters high.

Day 6: Departure

This was my last day in Bohol. I left the hotel early in the morning to take the ferry going back to Cebu City, and then two more ferries back to Siargao.

Here is the breakdown of expenses, not including airfare. To be more specific, the computation will be on a per person basis.
