I just got home about two hours ago from one of the most awesome weekends ever. I spent the weekend in Baler in Aurora with my org mates and new friends. Let me tell you all about it. Fair warning, this post is photo heavy. Teehee.

Day one. We arrived Saturday morning around 6am at the lodge. We went to Sabang beach for a surfing lesson. It was a first for most of us. We each had an instructor to guide us and to teach us the basics, which is mostly how to stand on the surf board. And how to not die. Haha. It was a bit scary at first but I enjoyed it. The waves were big and fierce. It was drizzling and there was a low pressure area as I was informed by one of the locals. I love the adrenaline rush. And it was such an achievement for me to stand on the board. Although I had to endure some wipe outs, it was super fun. We ate lunch at Bay's Inn then went back to the lodge for some fun in the pool. I wanted so much to swim in the beach but the water's really just for surfing. Then we had dinner and drank the night away.

Here comes my favorite part. The food. Here's what we ate at Bay's Inn. We ordered shrimp with broccoli, chicken with bacon in creamy sauce, pork sinigang, and sizzling sisig. The mango juice that I had was heaven. Perfect drink after a tiring activity.

Day two. I woke up with a hangover and a pain in my upper body area. We left early for a quick tour of Baler. We went to the waterfalls for some photo ops. I climbed the steep rocks framing the waterfalls just so I could get my picture taken there. Oh, and I did it barefooted. Then we went to pasalubong center to buy souvenirs. I got my self a pink tank top and a pair of earrings. We also went to Museo de Baler. Then we went to see the Balete tree in Maria Aurora, which is the largest of its kind in Asia. Of course, I explored the inside of the tree. Then we headed back to our lodge for lunch and got prepped up to go home. It was a good seven-hour drive back to Manila.
The largest Balete tree in Asia.
Look at what I got. The earrings are so cute.

And that's how I spent my weekend. It was two days of adrenaline packed, intoxicated fun in the North. I would definitely want to go back to Baler for more surfing. I ended up with aching arms, scratches here and there, and some insect bites but it was all worth it. :)
