Being one of the most popular tourist spots in the country during the summer, a trip to Boracay can be quite costly. But it doesn't really have to. It will all depend on how you spend your money and where you will be booking your flights and accommodations. All in all, my trip to Boracay with my sister only cost us roughly Php11,000. That's including roundtrip airfare for the both of us, our accommodations, and our expenses for our three-day stay.

For our transportation, we booked our flight through Skyjet Airlines which is a fairly new local airline that offers trips to only three destinations: Boracay, Coron, and Batanes. Flights there are usually cheaper compared to other airlines. What I did is I booked the return trip separately and refreshed the page several times until it gave me the cheapest airfare. In total, our round trip tickets for two persons cost around Php4500.

For the accommodations, I looked for a cheaper options through Agoda. Before booking, I checked the reviews first. We were able to get a room at Lola's Lodge. Lola's Lodge is not a hotel. It is simply a compound of studio-type rooms good for three persons max. Each room is fully air-conditioned has one single bed, one double bed, a flat-screen TV, in-room safe, and its own bathroom with towels and bath amenities. What I like about is its location. It's behind a 24-hour convenience store that has an ATM on the side. It's located in the busy area of D* Mall where there are lots of food places and souvenir shops. And it's just a two-minute walk from the main road and a five-minute walk from the beach. Our room cost Php2700 for two nights.

Here is what we did for our other expenses. For our food, my sister and I decided to both save and splurge. During our stay in Boracay, we looked for affordable meals for our breakfast and lunch, and ate at fancy places for dinner. There are lots of food places to choose from in Boracay so you're sure to find one that fits your budget. Now if you want to try out all the water attractions there, then it won't exactly be a budget trip. Since I love ATVs, that is the only attraction that we tried. Our ATV ride cost Php800 per head. As for the souvenirs, they come really cheap. You can get seven keychains for as low as Php100. Shirts and tank tops cost about Php100-200.
