Busan, South Korea, boasts stunning coastlines, vibrant culture, and unique experiences. If you're planning a trip there, then riding the Sky Capsule should be on your to-do list!

Sky Capsule in Busan

This whimsical capsule train, operated by Blueline Park, whisks you on a scenic adventure from Mipo Station to Cheongsapo Station, or vice versa, offering stunning views of the sea, sandy beaches, and rolling hills.

Where to Get Tickets to the Sky Capsule

The Blueline Park Sky Capsule takes you between two stations, Mipo and Cheongsapo, so you can get tickets at either of them. Here's how much the ride costs:

  • 2 Persons (One-Way) - KRW35,000
  • 3 Persons (One-Way) - KRW45,000
  • 4 Persons (One-Way) - KRW50,000

Because of its popularity, Sky Capsule tickets get sold out pretty fast, and there's a big probability that you won't be able to get a ticket if you purchase it on the day you plan to ride it. This is why it's always best to buy your ticket online at Blueline Park's official website.

You can purchase your ticket as early as two weeks before your trip. Since there were no options for solo riders, I had to purchase a ticket for two persons, which meant that I'd have the capsule all to myself. Eventually, though, I met a fellow solo female traveler in Seoul who spontaneously joined me in Busan, and we split the cost of the Sky Capsule ride.

Blueline Park also offers the Beach Train, which runs along the coast and has train tracks below the Sky Capsule. Visitors can opt to purchase a package, where they ride the Sky Capsule one-way and then take the Beach Train on the way back.

What to Expect During the Sky Capsule Ride

With my planned itinerary for the day, I booked the Mipo-to-Cheongsapo route. Once you have a ticket, make sure to be at the station at least 30 minutes before your scheduled ride. If you miss your time slot, then your ticket is forfeited.

Each capsule can comfortably accommodate up to 4 adults, with seating for two at each side and a table in the middle. It's well-ventilated, with tiny fans on each side plus small corner windows that can be opened.  There's even a small wooden speaker were you can place your phone if you want to play music during the ride.

The ride started at Mipo Station, located near the bustling Haeundae Beach area. The journey takes about 30 minutes, allowing you to fully appreciate the coastal landscape. Keep your camera handy! Capture the iconic Haeundae Beach, the dramatic rock formations jutting out from the shore, and the lush greenery of Dalmaji Hill in the distance.

Every view was breathtaking, and I took so many photos and videos during the ride.

We alighted at Cheongsapo Station, and from there, we went on with the rest of our itinerary, including the Cheongsapo Daritdol Observation Deck, which was located just a short walk from the station.

This was such a fun and memorable experience. The whole was so scenic. Note that we had a morning time slot so the sunlight wasn't too harsh, perfect for taking photos. If you plan on riding the capsule during sunset, the best route is from Cheongsapo to Mipo.

If you're visiting Busan, I'd highly recommend adding the Blueline Park Sky Capsule to your itinerary. It's a guaranteed way to elevate your adventure to new heights!
