Taraw Cliff, located in the heart of the town, is the highest point in El Nido. Climbing all the way to its peak is very exhilarating yet rewarding because of the amazing views from the top.

When I planned my trip to El Nido, I originally wanted to do the climb. But upon arriving, I was advised that shoes are necessary for safety purposes because the rocks on the way to the peak were quite sharp. So I decided to check for alternatives. And that's when I found out about the Taraw Via Ferrata where I could walk on a canopy to a nice view deck that has similar views from the peak.

I decided to do the activity on the day before my flight back to Manila. I woke up really early and had some coffee before walking to the registration and jump-off area. From my hotel, it was a two-minute walk.

Upon registering, I was assigned a guide and I proceeded to put on my safety gear - a harness and a helmet, and then we started the hike. The hike began on a small trail before going on a short ascent where the canopy starts. The canopy is purely man-made, using thick pieces of steel. There were no views in this part of the hike. Shortly, we reached a hanging bridge. At the end of the hanging bridge, you will get a sneak peek of the view from the top.

There was another short ascent on some steel steps before finally reaching the view deck. The view deck features breathtaking views of the ocean and the nearby islands. It also shows you views of the town.

Because I started early, I was the only one at the view deck. Hence, no photo bombers.

After the view deck, we moved on to the dreamcatcher, which is another attraction. It features more views of the ocean and the town from the other side.

Overall. it was a short and fun hike. It took me less than 45 minutes to hike all the way to the view deck, then to the dreamcatcher, and then back to the jump-off area.

The Taraw Via Ferrata was one of the highlights of my trip, and I would recommend it if you are planning to go to El Nido. When you book via Klook, there are two options for booking: one is just with the Canopy Walk and the other is Canopy Walk + Dreamcatcher. I would recommend the second option so you get the most out of your time here.

I have a couple more posts about my El Nido trip, and I will be sharing with you my full itinerary. But for now, that's it for this post.
