During my trip to El Nido, Palawan, I booked my stay at Casa Cecilia through Agoda. I stayed there for a total of six nights.

For my stay, I originally booked a double room and they gave me a room that is good for three people even though I was traveling solo. It had one double bed and a single bed, with a nice view of Taraw Cliff. Unfortunately, the air conditioning was not working very well in that room so I asked to change rooms. They accommodated my request and moved me to a double room. Of course, it was smaller than the first one but it was still spacious enough especially for a solo traveler like myself.

Location

Casa Cecilia is centrally located. It is in the El Nido town proper, close to souvenir shops and restaurants. There is a bakery and a convenience store beside it, and it is a five-minute walk from the beach and the El Nido port where the island hopping boats are docked.

Amenities

The room is equipped with basic amenities like towels, toiletries, and even disinfecting alcohol. The hot shower worked but the water pressure was not good. There was no free drinking water, except for hot water provided in the dining area. The restaurant was closed when I stayed there but you can order food and drinks, and you can borrow plates and utensils from the kitchen. There was free wifi but it was not very good so I ended up using my pocket wifi.

Cleanliness

Overall room and the ensuite bathroom were clean. The building looked old but it was well-maintained. The dining area looked abandoned, but to be fair, I went there when tourism was just restarting after the pandemic.

Customer Service

The customer service was good. The front desk staff was very accommodating and they accommodated all my requests, granted they were reasonable. They were also very helpful in booking my transportation to and from Puerto Princesa airport.

Price

I paid roughly P6,400 for six nights which puts the nightly rate at roughly P1,000 for a double room. So if you are traveling with someone, you'll be basically paying P500 a night. It is a really good deal considering it was a pretty decent place with a good location.

Overall, I can say that my stay at Casa Cecilia was very pleasant. During my trip, there was a power outage that lasted half a day and the hotel had a generator so I didn't have any problems.

I would highly recommend Casa Cecilia if you are going to El Nido. If you are looking for a budget place to stay in the town proper, then this hotel is a great option.
