Cheongsapo is well known for its row of coffee shops overlooking the ocean, and you could easily spend an afternoon moving from one to another. Every spot seems to offer big windows, terraces, and views of the sea, so you really can’t go wrong. Still, I ended up at Liberta, and it turned out to be a great choice.

Liberta Cafe Busan

The reason I chose Liberta was simple: I wanted something savory. The first couple of cafes I checked only had cakes and sweet pastries, which looked tempting but weren’t what I was craving. Liberta stood out because they had savory food options on the menu, so I settled in with an iced coffee and something to eat.

Inside, the cafe has a cozy yet modern-rustic vibe. The long tables facing the windows are finished in thick concrete, while the rest of the seating mixes distressed wood with a warm, vintage feel. Potted plants are spread throughout the space, softening the industrial touches, and the walls are decorated with retro-style art and knick-knacks that give the place character.

With the floor-to-ceiling windows framing the ocean, it felt like the right mix of laid-back and stylish. I spent about an hour here, thankful for the air-conditioning and a nice break from Busan’s summer heat.

Liberta might not be the only cafe in Cheongsapo with stunning views, but it offered exactly what I needed: good coffee, a savory bite, and a calm place to take a break. If you’re exploring the Cheongsapo area and want more than just sweets with your drink, this cafe is worth stopping by.
