Busan has no shortage of colorful neighborhoods, but Huinnyeoul Culture Village offers something a little different. Perched on a hillside overlooking the ocean, this small village has a quieter charm compared to some of the city’s more popular tourist spots.
It’s a great place to spend a couple of hours walking around, grabbing a coffee, and soaking in the views.
How to Get to Huinnyeoul Culture Village
Huinnyeoul Culture Village is easily accessible by public transport. From my hotel, it took just about 20 minutes by bus, and it was straightforward using Naver Map for directions. As with most local buses, you can simply tap in and out with your T-money card.

If you’d rather skip the bus, you can also use KakaoTaxi or Uber, but that will cost more. For a short trip, I found the bus to be cheap and convenient, especially since it drops you close to the entrance of the village.
What to Expect at Huinnyeoul Culture Village
Walking through the village reminded me a little of Gamcheon Culture Village, but on a smaller scale and without the heavy crowds.

Some houses are painted in brighter shades, but most are done in light pastels that give the village a softer, more relaxed feel. Murals are scattered around the narrow lanes, and because it still feels like a lived-in neighborhood rather than a tourist attraction, wandering here has a calm and easygoing vibe.
One of the highlights here is the view. From many spots in the village, you can see the ocean stretching out below, with parts of the city skyline in the distance. On a clear day, the combination of colorful rooftops and the deep blue sea makes for a striking backdrop.

There are several cafes and restaurants tucked into the hillside, many of which have terraces overlooking the water. I stopped at one for a drink and just sat for a while, enjoying the breeze and the scenery. It’s the kind of place where you don’t feel rushed, perfect for taking a break during a busy Busan itinerary.

You’ll also find a few local shops selling crafts and souvenirs, which adds to the charm. The atmosphere here is calm, and even with other visitors around, it never felt overwhelming. Overall, it’s a lovely place to visit if you want to enjoy Busan’s artistic side without dealing with the usual tourist crowds.
Visiting Huinnyeoul Culture Village was a refreshing break from the busier sights in Busan. It’s not a full-day destination, but for a couple of hours, it offers a nice mix of art, culture, and views. If you’re looking for somewhere peaceful yet still very “Busan,” this little village by the sea is worth the detour.
