When I visited Busan for the second time, I stayed longer and chose K-Guesthouse Premium Nampo 1, which I found to be a great balance of price, comfort, and convenience. For a budget-friendly accommodation, it checked most of the boxes I look for when traveling.
Here’s a breakdown of my experience.
Location
The location is one of the strongest points of this guesthouse. It’s just two subway stations away from Busan Station, which makes it easy to reach without having to spend extra on Uber or KakaoTaxi. From the nearest subway exit, it’s literally a one-minute walk. It’s also very close to BIFF Square and Gwangbok-ro Fashion Street, so you’ll find yourself surrounded by stores, restaurants, and cafes. Directly across is Nampo Market, and most major tourist attractions in Busan are easily accessible by public transportation from here.
Amenities
I booked a double room for extra comfort since the price difference from a solo room wasn’t much. The room itself was a bit on the smaller side, but the bed was big and comfortable enough to make up for it. Inside, there’s a TV, fridge, air conditioning, a desk, and a chair. Floor space is limited, especially if you have a lot of luggage, and instead of a closet, there are just a couple of hooks for hanging clothes.
The ensuite bathroom was a decent size and came with towels and basic toiletries. Toothbrushes and disposable razors were available upon request at the reception. Towels could also be swapped out anytime by bringing the used ones down. Coffee and tea are available all day, and there’s free drinking water too.
The guesthouse also has a dining and common lounge area, which is a big plus. This is where they serve the free daily breakfast, and the views of the city from here are great. Breakfast includes eggs, ham, cereal, bread, instant ramen, butter, and jam. You cook your own eggs and ham, but there’s no limit to how much you can have. The only downside is that the kitchen space is small, with just two induction burners. When many guests are trying to cook at the same time, it gets cramped and a little chaotic. Some people ended up sticking to cereal or instant ramen instead.
Cleanliness
I found the guesthouse to be very clean overall. My room and bathroom were spotless, and the linens were fresh. The lounge and kitchen were also well-maintained, despite the number of guests using them every morning.
Customer Service
The staff here were consistently friendly and approachable. They greeted guests with a smile and were quick to help with requests like providing extra toiletries. Even though it’s a budget guesthouse, the level of service felt warm and welcoming, which made the stay more pleasant.
Price
The price was what really made this place stand out. At less than PHP1,800 or around KRW44,000, per night, it’s hard to beat for what you get. For that amount, I had a private double room with an ensuite bathroom, free daily breakfast, and an excellent location close to shopping and food spots. Compared to other options in the area, this was a very good deal and offered great value for money.
K-Guesthouse Premium Nampo is a solid choice if you’re looking for affordable yet comfortable accommodation in Busan. Its central location, friendly staff, and free breakfast make it an easy pick for budget travelers who still want a private room and bathroom. While the rooms are on the smaller side and the shared kitchen can get crowded, those are minor trade-offs compared to the value you’re getting. If I find myself in Busan again, I’d definitely consider staying here.
