Busan, South Korea is a mountainous region, which means that it offers several viewpoints for panoramic views of the city. And many of them are located outside of the city center, involving a lot of walking and hiking on hilly roads or trails.

If you're not into hiking or if you don't have a lot of time to spend in Busan, you can get these panoramic views when you go up the Busan Diamond Tower.

Here's a quick guide if you plan to visit the tower.

About Busan Diamond Tower

Formerly known as Busan Tower, this 120-meter-tall beauty opened in 1973. It underwent a makeover in 2021 and reopened with its new title. It is located in Yongdusan Park, which is easily accessible via public transportation.

Yongdusan Park is on a small hill so you will still need to hike just a little bit, but it's not that much compared to hiking actual mountains in Busan. Don't worry - the views at the top make the hike so rewarding.

What to Expect in Busan Diamond Tower

The Busan Diamond Tower offers more than just a picturesque silhouette. Here's what you can expect on your visit.

Breathtaking Views

Take in the panoramic vistas of Busan. From the observation deck of the Busan Diamond Tower, you'll be treated to stunning views of the harbor, beaches, mountains, and the bustling cityscape. On a clear day, the sight is truly unforgettable, especially at night when the city lights twinkle like a million diamonds.

Next to the panoramic views of Seoul from Achasan Hill, this was probably my second favorite view in South Korea. Of course, these views would've been much more beautiful had I climbed a mountain in Busan but I didn't have enough time. That gives me a reason to come back.

Interactive Exhibits

The Busan Diamond Tower isn't just about the views. The lower floors feature interactive exhibits that are perfect for all ages. Get creative with photo ops that place you on the moon or in a submarine. There's also a mesmerizing mirror room and a colorful display that replicates the city lights.

Additionally, visitors get to play a game in the tower. Each entry ticket holds a puzzle, and you'll find clues to solve it in different parts of the tower. Once you solve the puzzle, you get to pick a prize at the souvenir store near the entrance of the tower.
