Google "Copenhagen" and photos of Nyhavn would immediately come up in the search results. This vibrant waterfront district is known for its iconic rows of colorful, historic townhouses along the canal. Lined with restaurants, bars, and cafes, it's a popular destination for both locals and tourists to enjoy waterfront dining and leisurely strolls. The harbor is also a departure point for canal tours, providing a unique perspective of the city's landmarks.

2. Tivoli Gardens

One of the world's oldest amusement parks, Tivoli Gardens is a must-visit attraction in Copenhagen. The park offers a mix of thrilling rides, beautiful gardens, live entertainment, and lots of dining options. It's a magical place, especially at night when the park is illuminated. Even if you're not into rides, you'll definitely enjoy visiting this place.

3. The Round Tower

Also known as  RundetÃ¥rn, the Round Tower is a historic tower and observatory that offers panoramic views of the city. It also houses a library, exhibition space, and an equestrian staircase.

4. The Little Mermaid

An iconic symbol of Copenhagen, the Little Mermaid statue is based on Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale. The statue is located at the Langelinie promenade and attracts millions of visitors each year. It's honestly underwhelming but no trip to the city will ever be complete without visiting this attraction.

5. The National Museum of Denmark

This is the country's largest cultural and historical museum, offering a comprehensive exploration of Danish history and culture. With a diverse collection of artifacts, art, and exhibits, it spans the prehistoric era to the present day, providing visitors with an immersive experience of Denmark's rich heritage.

6. Rosenborg Castle

Rosenborg Castle is a Renaissance castle that's known for its stunning architecture and historical significance. Built during the early 17th century, it now houses the Danish crown jewels and serves as a museum showcasing royal artifacts and regal splendor.

7. Christiansborg Palace

Christiansborg Palace is a prominent government building housing the Danish Parliament, the Prime Minister's Office, and the Supreme Court. With its impressive architecture and a tower that offers panoramic views of the city, Christiansborg Palace is a symbol of Denmark's political and administrative center.

8. Amalienborg Palace

Amalienborg Palace is the official residence of the Danish monarch and consists of four identical rococo-style palaces surrounding an octagonal courtyard. Visitors can witness the Changing of the Guard ceremony and explore the museum inside, providing insights into Denmark's royal history and traditions.

Strøget is Copenhagen's main shopping street and a must-visit attraction in Copenhagen. It's a bustling pedestrian-only thoroughfare that stretches through the heart of the city. If you're an art enthusiast, don't miss the National Gallery, which features an extensive collection of Danish and international art, spanning from the 14th century to the present day.

If you want to spend less during your trip to Copenhagen, then I'd highly recommend getting the Copenhagen Card.
