When one often hears the word "lambanog", one would usually shudder at the thought of this alcoholic drink with a potent kick. But such is not the case for Barik.

The story began when the makers visited the Eastern coast of Luzon where they had their first encounter with a promising native spirit remaining untapped from brackish palm. This locally distilled moonshine from nipa nectar proved to have a lighter and smoother flavor than the more popular coconut lambanog. In August 2016, Barik was made its debut on the market giving lambanog a fresh and classy new flavor with its subtle sweet notes. It's a modern take on this classic Filipino drink that everyone will surely enjoy.

Tiny but subtly potent. On a Friday night, I had some friends over to try Barik Lambanog in Supremo Ginger Sour. This drink is basically made of Barik Puro mixed with ginger, calamansi, and honey, with the flavors of the three mixed ingredients very evident with just one shot. I really liked the taste with hints of sweet and sour flavor.

Because of its fresh flavor and clean finish, with the light kick, indeed it was one of the best drinks I've ever had.
