So the date is set for the Nike Women's Half Marathon Manila, and that is May 15. I'm sure a lot of you, ladies, are excited for this event. I know I am. For some of you, this may be your nth half-marathon, especially if you are as hooked into running as I am. For some you, this may be your first, and that is completely okay. Now, for first-timers, the 21k distance may be a bit scary and overwhelming at first, and that is perfectly understandable. I felt the same way too when I was about to run my very first marathon. But all those fears were gone when the race started. Training and sheer determination helped me finish the race.
For the first-timers out there, let me share with you the Nike 21k training plan. The program lasts for 12 weeks which is perfect just in time for the Nike Women's Half Marathon. For those who are already comfortable with the 21k distance, this training plan is also good if you're looking to run your fastest half marathon yet. Just click here to get the PDF file.
I'm no expert, but based on my experience, any distance is achievable as long as you trained for it and as long as you have the determination to finish it. My advise to newbie runners out there is to just stick to your training plan and race with your heart. See you on May 15! :)
