I was in Seoul two months ago and I missed the HYBE Insight exhibit there, so imagine my happiness and excitement when BigHit Entertainment announced that the BTS x James Jean: Seven Phases Exhibition is coming to Manila.

BTS x James Jean

The Seven Phases Exhibition is a collaboration between Taiwanese-American artist James Jean and the global K-pop group BTS. The exhibit features beautiful artworks by the Grammy-nominated visual artist inspired by the Grammy-nominated group.

The exhibit highlights seven paintings created by the artist, with each painting inspired by a member of BTS. It also takes visitors on the artist's creative journey while creating the concepts for his paintings. It was said that the paintings are now personal properties of the members and that they were temporarily taken from their homes for this exhibit.

Another highlight of the exhibit is the display of some assets, which include the BTS members' actual outfits for the Butter and Permission to Dance music videos, and the microphones and in-ear monitors that they used in concerts. The exhibit also displays some of the awards that they've received over the past decade. Unfortunately, photography isn't allowed in this section.

As an ARMY, it felt so surreal seeing all these in person. I'm not going to lie - I nearly got teary-eyed when I saw their music video outfits and microphones. The last part of the exhibit features a huge wall where visitors can write messages for BTS. There's also a pop-up merch shop, which I avoided at all costs considering how much money I spent on albums and merch in the past year - that and I really need to save money for their comeback concert.

If you're a huge fan of BTS, then this exhibit is a must-see. It runs until December 3, 2023, and a ticket costs PHP800.
