A few weeks ago, I was in Singapore for a 13-hour layover. While I stayed at Jewel Changi Airport for most of it, I still went to the city just for a bit of sightseeing.

The best thing about Jewel is that you won't run out of things to do while in there. The second best thing is that there are sooo many dining options inside this big establishment.

So during my layover, I managed to try a few food places in Jewel with my aunt, who lives in Singapore. She recommended all these places.

Saap Saap Thai

Yup, you guessed it! This place is a Thai restaurant, as its name suggests. Saap Saap Thai serves authentic Thai street food including fried chicken, stir-fried rice dishes, noodles, and spicy salad.

I tried their signature dish - Thai Boat Noodles. This is a noodle dish served in an aromatic broth together with slices of chicken. This dish was absolutely delicious, and the chicken was just perfect. It was easily my favorite dish for the day.

I also tried one of their desserts. I had the Mango So Cool, which is basically mango sticky rice served with ice cream. I got a bit too excited to try the ice cream before snapping the photo below.

Maison de PB by Paris Baguette

After lunch, we went to the city for a bit. I had to go back to Jewel Changi Airport because my flight departed from Terminal 1.

Once I was back at Jewel, I was feeling a bit tired from sightseeing in the city so I went to Maison de PB by Paris Baguette for coffee and a sugar fix. I ordered a small cup of Americano and paired it with one of their chocolate cakes. The cake was really good, but it was honestly a tad too sweet for my taste.

I also got a couple of their sandwiches for takeout so I had something to snack on while waiting for my flight.

Tun Xiang Hokkien Delights

Of course, no trip to Singapore would be complete without trying Singaporean food. So before I checked in for my flight, I managed to go for another meal. I wasn't hungry at this point, but I wanted to make the most of it.

I went to Tun Xiang Hokkien Delights, which is a Singaporean food chain. I tried one of their most popular dishes which was the Hokkien Mee. It's a noodle dish, stir-fried in a rich prawn and pork stock and served with chili and lime on the side. This one was also really good. The sauce was rich and flavorful, and I love how they didn't go easy on the toppings.

This was such an enjoyable part of my trip, and I'd love to come back to Singapore just to see the city again and try more restaurants.

If you have a long layover in Singapore, I would definitely suggest going to Jewel Changi Airport andtryingy the different food options there.
