As a popular tourist destination, food can be quite pricey in La Union, with meals ranging from Php200 to Php250. This is why both tourists and locals love Tagpuan, which is up next in my eLyU food crawl. While Tagpuan looks like your typical hole-in-the-wall kind of food place, it actually offers delicious rice meals for budget-friendly prices.

Combo 1: Rice, tofu, pork, and egg - Php60
 Bagnet Rice Bowl - Php120

Overall, the food is very yummy. The two dishes above are my personal faves. And no, I did not order them both on the same day. These photos were taken on separate days. Haha. Anyways, the bagnet, which is deep-fried pork belly, is just too good that I can't get enough of it. It was crispy on the outside yet still chewy, which means that it was perfectly cooked. The combo 1 is simply too much value for your money, with all the good stuff in it.

Because this place gets usually packed during the weekends, serving time may take too long. But the wait is definitely worth it.

Tagpuan is located in Urbiztondo in San Juan, La Union. Just look for the waiting shed with the tricycle queue across Sebay Surf Resort, and you'll find this place. :)
