Located along Cheonggyecheon-ro in Jongno, Niroumianguan is a noodle shop that has gained international attention thanks to its spot on the Michelin Guide. It’s not a flashy or elaborate restaurant – in fact, it’s quite modest, but that’s exactly the charm.
The menu is simple and focused, just like the space. The Beef Noodle Special goes for around 15,000 KRW, while the regular Beef Noodle is just 12,000 KRW. There are extras like dumplings and pickled cucumbers, and evening specials like mapo tofu – you really can’t go wrong here

I went with a friend for an early dinner, knowing this place has become a bit of a hotspot. We only waited about five minutes before being seated, but just half an hour later I glanced outside and saw a line that stretched down the street. Safe to say, we timed it right. The atmosphere inside was lively but still relaxed.
Naturally, we both ordered the Beef Noodle Special, which is what Niroumianguan is best known for. On the table was a small card with tips on how to enjoy it properly: start by tasting the noodles and broth on their own, then halfway through your bowl, add the toppings and seasonings provided. We followed the suggestion, and honestly, both versions were fantastic – pure and rich at first, then transforming into a deeper, spicier, and more complex bowl once the extras came in.

To share, we also ordered dumplings, which turned out to be another highlight. They arrived steaming, with delicate skins and a juicy filling that paired really well with the chili dipping sauce. It was the kind of side dish that disappeared almost too quickly because it was that good.
At the end of the meal, we each paid a little over 600 PHP (around 10 to 11 USD or about 14,000 KRW), which felt like a steal considering the quality. Between the flavorful noodles, the perfectly cooked dumplings, and the cozy atmosphere, Niroumianguan is absolutely worth the hype. If you’re in Seoul and craving a Michelin-approved comfort meal without the fine dining fuss, this spot should be on your list.
