During our family trip to Osaka, we stayed in S-Peria Inn Osaka Hommachi, which is nicely situated in the city center. We stayed here for five nights. In this post, I'll be sharing my experience at this hotel and giving a quick review.

S-Peria Inn Osaka Hommachi

Location

The location of S-Peria Inn Osaka Hommachi is really good. It's a three-minute walk from Hommachi Subway station which is connected to three subway lines: Midōsuji Line, Chūō Line, and Yotsubashi Line. Because of the location, it was quite easy for us to take public transportation from our hotel to the different tourist spots in Osaka.

I like the area of our hotel because it's pretty quiet at night but it also felt very safe. There are lots of restaurants and several convenience stores in the area. There's also a big park nearby for jogging.

Amenities

Since there are three of us on this trip, we got a double room that has two beds and a couch that converts into a third bed. As Japanese hotel rooms go, the room that we got was very tiny and there was just enough space for us to walk around. There's no closet so we had to keep our luggage in one corner to get them out of the way.

Even though the room was small, the amenities were pretty good. The beds, including the couch, were comfortable to sleep on. Our room comes with its own bathroom and toilet. Towels, toiletries, sleeping robes, and bedroom slippers were provided, and we can always ask for more toiletries at the front desk. A hairdryer and clothes steamer were provided. There was also a small fridge and a coffee machine. We got coffee pods, tea, and bottled water that they refilled daily.

Our booking includes a daily buffet-style breakfast featuring a good variety of Japanese breakfast dishes like steamed rice, miso soup, mixed vegetables, tamagoyaki or Japanese omelet, takoyaki, sausages, ham, yakisoba, and tofu. If those dishes aren't to your preference, there's also cereal and an assortment of bread with butter and jam. Plus, coffee and juices are provided.

Cleanliness

The room and the attached bathroom were very clean. The hotel does provide daily cleaning and they change our towels, sleeping robes, and slippers daily. I really have nothing else to say in this regard - just that everything in the hotel was clean.

Customer Service

The customer service was quite good and as expected of Japanese people, the staff were very polite. Even though the hotel staff didn't speak English fluently, they could still communicate to an extent that was understandable. And every time I asked them for something, they were always willing to help.

After we checked out, since our flight was in the evening, they were nice enough to let us store our luggage so we could still roam around the city and do some last-minute shopping.

Price

For five nights at S-Peria Inn Osaka Hommachi, we only paid PHP16,765 or around PHP5,588 per night. Considering that there were three of us, this was very cheap. My only nitpick was that the room was tiny but everything else was good, from the amenities to the cleanliness to the level of customer service that we got. Also, the free breakfast was excellent.
