When I was in Vienna, I stayed at Time Out City Hotel. While I was planning this trip, I made bookings at three different hotels before finally deciding on this one.

The deciding factor for me was the ease of transportation going to this hotel and its proximity to several tourist spots.

Location

Time Out City Hotel is situated close to the city center. From the hotel, you can take a 20 to 30-minute walk going to Inner Stadt, which is the innermost district of Vienna where the old town is located. Which I think is not that bad because you'll pass by several interesting spots depending on which route you take.

From the hotel, you can also walk to several tourist spots, including Rathausplatz, Hofburg Palace, Vienna Opera House, and Karlskirche, in less than 20 minutes.

It's accessible by subway from the central train station. Additionally, there are numerous restaurants, cafes, retail stores, and souvenir shops very close to the hotel.

Amenities

I booked a solo room, and the room was equipped with the basics such as a single bed, table, chair, sink with hot and cold water, hand soap, mirror with lighting, a space to hang a few clothes, and a heater. My room also had a TV and the Wi-Fi worked really well.

There was no air conditioning, which is normal for budget hotels in Europe. I didn't mind though because it was super cold when I visited.

Since it was a budget room, I didn't have my own toilet and bathroom, which was fine. The common shower and toilet were clean and well-stocked with toilet paper, body soap, and shampoo. There was also a small elevator for easy access to the other hotel floors.

Cleanliness

Overall, the room and the common areas were clean and well-maintained. I could see the hotel staff cleaning the hallways and common bathrooms every day.

Customer Service

The customer service was really good. I arrived at the hotel at 9 am and I was aware that the check-in time was 2 pm. Even so, since I advised the hotel of my arrival time, they were nice enough to let me check in early and had my room ready by 10 am.

The receptionist was very friendly and chatty. The rest of the hotel staff were quite nice and polite, as they never failed to greet me whenever I passed them by the hallway.

Price

I paid PHP9,269 for three nights, which puts the rate at roughly PHP3090 or €52.50 per night. While it may seem a lot for a small hotel room with no air conditioning and no attached bathroom, it's actually a good price considering how expensive everything is in Vienna compared to other European cities.

I had a pleasant stay at Time Out City Hotel. The bed was quite comfortable and I found the room to be very cozy. I liked the big window because it added a lot of brightness to the room and made it appear much bigger than it was.

I highly recommend this hotel and I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Vienna.
