If you're looking for a place in the surf town of San Juan, La Union that serves good food during the day and becomes a chill gimik place at night, then Tipple and Brew is perfect for you.

At night, it's buzzing with La Union party-goers where one can order and have a taste of some local craft beers. It has a rooftop area that offers al fresco seating. While there isn't much of a view, you get to enjoy the cool ocean breeze while sipping your drinks.

During the day, it is a nice place to dine. It has a homey feel to it, with rustic tables and chairs and without the feeling of being too crowded because of its huge open windows. The interiors are decorated with cute wall art that very much resonates the surf town vibe.

Tipple & Brew opens as early as 9am which means that you can have your brunch there. I got to try the food there with my friend, Mabel, and here's what we ordered.
for Mabel: bacon, egg, and fried rice, comes with free drink
for moi: fried chicken and rice, with corn and carrots on the side

My verdict? I loooved the food there. The fried chicken was very tasty, as well as the gravy. It was cooked just fine, crispy on the outside but well-cooked and tender on the inside. The servings were generous too. The meal includes two pieces of chicken, although the angle that I took the photo doesn't really show it. I also tried the bacon (because good friends share food, lol), and it was cooked perfectly. Not too greasy and not to toasted and crispy, which we both liked. The prices were affordable too; around Php150 for the rice meals.

Overall, we had a pleasant experience at Tipple & Brew. Good service, check. Good food in affordable prices, check and check. Would I recommend this place? Yes. Would I come back? Definitely yes.

Drop by Tipple & Brew when you are in LU. It is located just along MacArthur Highway in Urbiztondo in San Juan, La Union.
