If you haven't heard of the Eiffel Tower, then you're probably living under a rock. It's an iconic symbol and is known as one of the most famous landmarks in France, and even in Europe.

A trip to Paris is never complete without taking a photo with the Eiffel Tower. In this post, I'll be sharing with you five of the best Eiffel Tower photo spots in the city.

Eiffel Tower in Paris

Interesting Facts About the Eiffel Tower

Standing 324 meters tall, the tower was designed by engineer Gustave Eiffel and his company, and it was constructed as the entrance arch for the 1889 World's Fair, which was held in Paris to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the French Revolution.

The tower is made of iron and is composed of four curved legs that meet at a single point at the top. It has three levels that visitors can access, with elevators and stairs providing access to these levels. Originally, the Eiffel Tower was intended to be a temporary structure for the World's Fair but it was preserved and has become a symbol of love, romance, and French culture.

Trocadéro

The Trocadéro is situated in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, on the right bank of the Seine River. It offers one of the best vantage points to view the Eiffel Tower across the river. It's a popular photo spot so this place can get really crowded. You'd even see wedding shoots here. I highly recommend coming here early in the morning around 7am.

Pont d'Iéna

Just a few minutes walk from the Trocadéro is the bridge called Pont d'Iéna. This is also another great spot to have your photo taken with the Eiffel Tower. You can take a photo while on the bridge itself or you can sit on the ledge beside the bridge and overlooking the Seine River. You can check the photo on my blog's sidebar for reference as this was where it was taken.

Rue de l'Université

Rue de l'Université is a street in Paris that's located in the 7th arrondissement. It's situated in close proximity to the Eiffel Tower, which makes it a great spot for getting your photos taken with this iconic landmark in the background. However, it can get pretty crowded here too so I'd recommend going early in the morning.

Champ de Mars

This is a large public greenspace that stretches between the Eiffel Tower and the École Militaire in the 7th arrondissement. With its well-maintained lawns, gardens, and paths, it's the perfect place to relax on a Parisian Sunday afternoon. I had a picnic here with some fellow female solo travelers and it's also a great place for having your photo taken with the tower as it's situated directly in front of it.

Beneath the Eiffel Tower

If you want a photo with the tower looming behind you, then there's no better place to do it than directly beneath it. This is a great spot, especially at night when the Eiffel Tower is lit up. However, taking a photo here can get tricky because this place can get very busy. I suggest taking the photo from a low angle to get that perfect shot.
