Hotel de Koopermoolen is a budget hotel that's located in the center of Amsterdam. It's where I stayed for a few nights while I was visiting and here's my honest review of it.
Location
If you want a hotel that's centrally located in Amsterdam, then you can't go wrong with Hotel de Koopermoolen. It's just a five-minute walk from the central station and it's walking distance from many tourist attractions such as Dam Square and the Red Light District.
It's also surrounded by numerous restaurants, coffee shops, bars, and shops so it's a very convenient place to stay in. I found it to be a strategic location especially if you're traveling by bus or by train. The bus station isn't exactly close by but you can easily take the train to go to the bus station.
Amenities
I booked a solo room with its own bathroom and toilet. The room itself looks outdated but for a budget hotel, the amenities are quite decent. The bed was comfortable and big enough considering that I was sleeping there alone. There's a wardrobe cabinet for my clothes, a desk and a chair, adequate lighting, and heating facilities. The bathroom was well-equipped with towels and toiletries, and the hot shower worked perfectly.
My booking included free daily breakfast and it was a buffet. The food was quite good and there were many options for bread, cheese, meat, cereal, and jam. There were several options for drinks, such as coffee, tea, water, and juice.
Cleanliness
Despite its outdated look, the hotel room was very clean. The staff also cleaned the rooms and changed the towels daily which is always a welcome bonus.

Customer Service
The customer service was quite good. Guests are required to leave their keycard every time they leave the hotel but the front desk is open 24 hours so it wasn't a problem. It also felt very safe. The hotel staff members were very friendly and chatty, which was nice. But to be fair, I found that the Dutch are really friendly people compared to other Europeans.
Price
Even though Hotel de Koopermoolen is a budget hotel, it's still pricier compared to other hotels I've stayed at in Europe. That's because hotels in Amsterdam are generally more expensive compared to that in other European cities. I paid PHP 6,708 per night, which is around €111, and this rate includes city taxes and tourism fees per night.
I had a very pleasant stay at Hotel de Koopermoolen. Even though it cost more than what I would've wanted to pay, it was still worth it. I had a comfortable stay and the overall service was excellent. The included breakfast was awesome and I got to save on food expenses.
Would I stay here again? Definitely and I'd highly recommend staying here.
