During my short visit to Prague, I stayed at Hotel Aladin. So for this post, I'll be giving a quick review and sharing my experience staying at this hotel.

Hotel Aladin in Prague

Location

Upon checking Google Maps, I thought the location of Hotel Aladin is good but as it turns out, it's not too close to the city center. However, it is pretty close to the main train station which was ideal as I had an early morning bus trip going to Munich on my last day in Prague.

If you like walking, then you wouldn't mind staying at Hotel Aladin as it's about a 30-minute walk from the old town. I did like the area though because it's pretty quiet and it felt safe. Plus there's a tram stop five minutes away so it's easy to take public transportation from there.

Amenities

I booked a solo room, and I thought it was okay overall, at least for an overnight stay. The room was tiny but it didn't feel cramped. There was enough space for me to move around and the bathroom was adequately sized. I also liked the big window because it made the room feel brighter.

My room was equipped with the basics. Of course, there's a bed, a storage cabinet, towels, and linens, but it also had a small fridge and an electric kettle.  The Wi-Fi was also decent. There weren't any toiletries provided, which was fine because the hotel description online didn't say that it was going to be provided.

There was no air conditioning but it was fine because it was quite cold. There was also no elevator which was a challenge for me because I had a big suitcase.

My booking also included a free breakfast which I didn't get to take because I had to leave early. I had to be at the bus terminal around 5:30 am and hotel breakfasts are normally served at around 8.

Cleanliness

Overall, I felt like cleanliness was lacking. The linens and towels were clean. The carpeted floor looked old and I thought it could use some deep cleaning.

But what I found really off-putting was that the electric kettle had dirty water in it. I wanted to use it for my instant coffee before leaving in the morning but when I opened it, there was dirty and grimy water in it. I completely lost my coffee cravings.

Customer Service

The customer service was decent. There was nothing really outstanding but I had to commend them for having my room ready at around 10 am even though the normal check-in time is 2 pm.

Price

I paid around PHP1,790 for an overnight stay, which is around €30. Compared to other hotels in the area, it was a pretty good deal with free breakfast.

Overall, I still had a good stay at Hotel Aladin. Except for the dirty electric kettle and old carpeted floors, everything else was okay for the price. The bed was comfortable and the location was nice and quiet. The free breakfast is a nice touch, and too bad I didn't get to try it.

If you're visiting Prague and you're looking for a decent but cheap place to stay, then I would recommend this hotel. It's also good if you're just staying for a night or two.

But if you have more money to spend on accommodations or if you're staying longer and want something nicer, then I'd suggest looking elsewhere. There are so many hotels in Prague, and it's just a matter of finding one that fits your budget and suits your needs.
