Day two of my backpacking trip and I had no itinerary. Which is so not typical of me because as I have mentioned in my recent blog post, I love to plan everything. Originally, I was supposed to go on a tour of the Mekong Delta river but I was not able to book my tour ahead of time and when I checked Klook and Kkday, all slots have been filled.
So I decided to venture out once again into the city and check the spots that I have not been to yet. I started by taking a morning stroll along Bui Vien to look for a place to have coffee and breakfast.
Up next was the Fine Arts Museum Saigon. This museum features arts in different forms coming from different eras in Vietnam, from traditional to modern art. I spent most of my morning there just looking at artwork and mind you, it was a big museum that you would really need half a day to see everything.
After my museum trip, I went to the Bitexco Financial Tower to book my tickets for the observation deck bundled with the Heineken Experience. The tour does not start until 3pm but I had to get my tickets early because the place is usually packed with tourist if you would just walk in. Once I got my ticket, I went to a local restaurant for lunch and then to another cafe to waste time away while waiting for 3pm.

The Heineken Experience was probably the most fun part of my trip. I got to learn about the history of Heineken and then saw how Heineken was made through a 3D ride. Afterwards, we got to learn how to properly pour draft beer, which I suck at and was a total fail. Then I got to drink more Heineken in their special bar with the other people on the tour. Of course, I got a nice little souvenir, which was a bottle of Heineken personalized with my name on it.
After that, I went back to my hotel and took a quick nap. I headed out around 8pm to have dinner at a restaurant along Bui Vien and then went back to my hotel to rest for the night.
Up next is the food tripping part of Vietnam and then the start of my Cambodia adventures.
